From time to time the Society of Architectural Historians issues policy statements on a variety of topics related to higher education, from av福利社’s Core Values Statement to av福利社’s Personal Conduct Policy. These are intended to outline av福利社’s positions and policies. In addition, av福利社 is sometimes invited to be a signatory on a letter or statement written by a Constituent Member of the American Council of Learned Societies, of which av福利社 is a member. The topics range from a protest over taxing graduate school tuition waivers as income, to concern over moves to dismantle the structure of Turkish higher education.
In an effort to keep members informed about issues on which av福利社 has taken an official stand, av福利社 has created a new page on its website (in the About av福利社 section) called Advocacy where recent statements will be published. They are in addition to the many statements that the av福利社 Heritage Conservation Committee has issued on historic preservation issues of national and international consequence, which are posted on the Preservation Advocacy page.
