Brett Tippey, Kent State University, co-chairs of the av福利社 2020 Virtual Conference session "Opposite/Apposite: Exchanges between Australasia and Ibero-America," are pleased to announce that papers from the session have been developed and published in a special issue of
.
"Thanks to the fruitful discussion that followed the conference session and the cross-pollination of ideas and information between the authors, the articles have been expanded and enriched, forming a robust collection of interconnected narratives," De la Vega de León and Tippey say in their introduction to the issue.
The issue contains four papers original from the av福利社ANZ session:

Macarena de la Vega de Leon joined av福利社 in 2018. She received a Gill Family Foundation Graduate Student Fellowship in 2019 and a 2020 av福利社 Opler Grant for av福利社 for Emerging Professionals. She participated in the av福利社 GAHTC Teacher to Teacher Workshop, served as a speaker at the 2019 av福利社 International Conference, and served as a session chair at the 2020 av福利社 Virtual Conference.
Brett Tippey joined av福利社 in 2010. He received an av福利社 av福利社 Grant for Emerging Professionals in 2014 and served as a session chair at the 2016 av福利社 Annual International Conference and the 2020 av福利社 Virtual Conference. He is a member of the av福利社 Architectural Studies Affiliate Group, and has served on the de Montequin Fellowship Committee.
Emma López-Bahut joined av福利社 in 2019. She was a speaker at the av福利社 2020 Virtual Conference, and currently participates in the Women in Architecture Affiliate Group. She received an av福利社 Annual Conference Senior Scholar Fellowship in 2020.
Ana Estaban-Maluenda became a member of av福利社 in 2015 and was awarded av福利社 Annual Conference Senior Scholar Fellowships in 2018 and 2020. She served as a session chair at the av福利社 2016 Annual International Conference and as a speaker at the av福利社 2018 Annual International Conference and the av福利社 2020 Virtual Conference.
Philip Goad initially joined av福利社 in 1995. He was a speaker at the av福利社 2015 and 2016 Annual International Conferences and served as a session chair at the av福利社 2019 International Conference.
