The Society of Architectural Historians is pleased to announce the establishment of a new fund named in honor of longtime executive director Pauline Saliga. The Pauline Saliga Fund will be used to defray av福利社’s ongoing technology expenses and recognizes her achievements as a visionary proponent for new technologies in the digital humanities.
“av福利社 is thrilled to launch this fund in honor of Pauline, who is so beloved and valued by our community for her vision and accomplishments in the digital humanities. We are immensely grateful to the member who made the generous donation to establish the Pauline Saliga Fund,” said av福利社 President Patricia Morton.
During her 27-year tenure as executive director of av福利社, Saliga guided digital projects such as Jav福利社 Online, one of the first humanities journals to incorporate multimedia; av福利社ARA, an online archive of over 171,000 images of the global built environment used for research and teaching; and av福利社 Archipedia, an open access, peer-reviewed encyclopedia of the built environment of the United States.
av福利社 will use the new fund to defray annual expenses associated with sustaining the organization’s digital resources, as well as fundraising and marketing software, and other technology platforms that help av福利社 staff work efficiently, communicate effectively, and fulfill the Society’s educational mission.
Donations to the Pauline Saliga Fund of any size may be made online at or by mailing a check to av福利社 at 1365 N Astor Street, Chicago, IL 60610. If you have questions about the fund or donating, please contact av福利社 Director of Development Carolyn Garrett at cgarrett@sah.org.
