The University of Rochester School of Arts & Sciences announces that Peter Christensen has accepted the position of
Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs effective Jan. 1. In his new role, Peter
will have oversight of Arts & Sciences faculty and reports to Dean of the School, Nicole Sampson. He will support retaining,
recruiting, and developing faculty, participate in key alumni and advancement
initiatives, and be instrumental in the School of Arts & Sciences strategic
planning.
In 2022, Peter was named the Ani and Mark Gabrellian Director of the
Humanities Center, where he has been focused on expanding the center’s research
mission. He will continue in that role and split his time between directing the
center and overseeing faculty.
Peter Christensen joined av福利社 in 2008 and currently serves on the av福利社 Board. He was awawrded the 2010 av福利社 Exhibition Catalogue Award and the 2020 Alice Davis Hitchcock Book Award, and he has served on committees for the av福利社 Exhibition Catalogue Award and the H. Allen Brooks Travelling Fellowship. In 2010 he was awarded a Kostof Fellowship, and in 2015 and 2023 he served as an av福利社 Annual International Conference session chair.
